Workday HCM

Prerequisites๏ปฟ๏ปฟ

To connect Workday HCM to DataLakeHouse.io, you need a Workday Integration System User account that has read permissions for human resources domain objects in Workday.

NOTE: An ISU account's username has the following format: [user-name]@[tenant-name].

Setup instructions๏ปฟ๏ปฟ

Create an integration system user

  1. Log in to your Workday application using an Administrator account.
  2. In the application's search box, search for 'create user' and then select Create Integration System User.
  3. Enter a User Name and Password.
  4. Leave the Require New Password at Next Sign In checkbox unchecked.
  5. Check the Do Not Allow UI Sessions checkbox.
  6. Click OK and then click Done.

Create an integration security group

  1. In the search box, search for 'create security group' and then select Create Security Group.
  2. In the Type of Tenanted Security Group drop-down menu, select Integration System Security Group (Unconstrained).
  3. Enter a Security Group Name and click OK.
  4. In the Edit Integration System Security Group (Unconstrained) window, add the integration system user you created in Step 1 to this security group.
  5. Click OK.

Add domain security policies

  1. In the search box, search for 'security group membership and access' and then select the report link.
  2. Select the security group you created in Step 2 and click OK.
  3. Click the ... symbol next to the security group name.
  4. Select Security Group > Maintain Domain Permissions for Security Group.
  5. Click OK and then click Done.

Activate security policy changes๏ปฟ๏ปฟ

  1. In the search box, search for 'Activate Pending Security Policy Changes'.
  2. Select Activate Pending Security Policy Changes.
  3. In the comment box, enter 'I approve the changes' and then click OK.
  4. Check the Confirm checkbox and then click OK.

DataLakeHouse Setup

  1. In the Source Conector, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
    1. Enter your Workday Username and Tenant in the following format: {Workday_Username}@{Tenant}. You can find the tenant in your Workday Web Services URL: https://<Workday-host-name>/ccx/service/<Workday-Tenant>/....
    2. Enter your Workday Password.
    3. Enter your Workday Hostname. You can find the Workday Hostname from your Workday Web Services URL, which has the following format: https://<Workday-host-name>/ccx/service/....
    4. Click Authorize Your Connection
  2. Create a Sync Bridge to replicate your Workday HCM data to your Target Connection on your desired schedule
