What's the difference between the NetSuite.com and NetSuite2.com Data Sources?
NetSuite provides access to your NetSuite data in several different ways outside of the standrd NetSuite user interface (UI) portal. This includes a REST API (used by the NetSuite (Oracle NetSuite) connector), and also the SuiteAnalytics capability used by the NetSuite SuiteAnalytics connector).
The NetSuite SuiteAnalytics solution option provides a standard database connectivity solution so that customers can write relational queries to retrieve and analyze data.
The SuiteAnalytics connecity options are based on an older now outdated but still available option referened to as NetSuite.com SuiteAnalytics, not exposing new development since October 2021, and the new NetSuite2.com SuiteAnalytics option which is NetSuite's go forward option.
These two SuiteAnalytics source options different in the following ways from our perspective, but you can read more about each in these documents:
| NetSuite2.com | NetSuite.com (older version) |
---|---|---|
1 | Provides ongoing schema updates, from schema used since 2019.1 | Schema only available up to 2018.2 version |
2 | Record Types and metadata available in connection source | Record Types available in Connect Browser |
3 | Ongoing enhancements and updates to tables and columns | No further enhancements to tables and columns (metadata) after October 2021 |
4 | Newest and ongoing path | No longer consider a best practice |
5 | Consistent across SuiteAnalytics Workbook and UI | Not aligned to lastest SuiteAnalytics Workbook |
