oracle bi publisher (bip) has a long standing of incorporation in the oracle space as a pixel perfect reporting tool our leadership team has been using bip for well over a decade, and the enhancements bip has in oracle fusion to provide dataset outputs for report, etc is constrained only by your ability to seamlessly automate the synchronization of the data to your target destination like databricks, motherduck, snowflake, etc that's where the dlh io platform comes in to solve your use case pre requisites you'll need your bip application details in order to configure your connector in dlh io username and password credentials with certain security authorization access url to your oracle fusion account (aka service account or environment url, for example, https //accountname fa xx oraclecloud com) setup instructions dlh io securely connects to your bi publisher system using the form in the dlh portal you'll complete the following basic steps to capture the information from your oracle cloud account follow these initial steps access your oracle fusion cloud account in the main application console, determine the instance of your account this is typically the url in your browser address bar (ex https //accountname fa xx oraclecloud com) once signed in but it can also be found by click on the overview information \[screenshot] create a new oracle fusion cloud user (if one does not already exists, but we recommend creating a new service account user specifically for the dlh integration for separate login best practices and controls) navigate to tools > security console click on users and add user account enter the necessary information and credentials and record them for later use in setting up the connection in dlh grant the appropriate security roles to the new service account user click on create role from the tools > security console menu on the roles page, click create role create a new role with a descriptive name, for example role name = bip dlh connect role rode code = bip dlh connect role category = bi abstract role predefined role = uncheck this checkbox description = role used for dlh io to connect to bip click the next button on the security policies page click next on the data securities page click add role on the role hiearchy page search and select the following roles to add bi consumer role bi author role bi publisher data model developer role content administration click the add role membership button close the dialog box if it does not automatically close click next click next on segregation of duties page on the users page, enter the name of the new service account user then click the next button review the summary page and click save and close next create your dataset in bip and create a bip connector in dlh io
